Cement injection may stop spine breaks after cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT02387905

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether injecting bone cement into the spine can prevent fractures in people with cancer that has spread to the spine. About 87 patients who are at high risk for a spine fracture after radiation therapy will receive either cement plus radiation or radiation alone. The goal is to see if the cement lowers the chance of a fracture and helps with pain and quality of life.
