Simple procedure may prevent deadly side effect of repeat radiation in nasal cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07552883
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether removing a thin layer of tissue (pseudomembrane) from the nose and throat can prevent tissue death caused by repeat radiation in people with recurrent nasopharyngeal cancer. About 40 adults who develop this membrane during or after their second round of radiation will have it removed endoscopically. The goal is to cut the 2-year risk of tissue death from 40% down to 20%.
