Summary
This study looked at whether computer alerts in medical records could help doctors follow best practices to prevent postoperative delirium (sudden confusion after surgery) in patients with cognitive impairment (memory or thinking problems). About 7,400 adults with cognitive impairment having surgery were included. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
