Zinc spray may stop mouth pain in cancer radiation

Summary
This study tests a zinc-based spray (Gel X) to prevent painful mouth sores in 130 people receiving radiation for head and neck cancer. Participants will use either the zinc spray or a baking soda rinse. The goal is to see if the spray reduces sores, eases pain, and speeds healing.
