New monitor could stop dangerous heart slowing during common nose job

NCT ID NCT07435870

Summary

This study is testing if a special monitor can predict and prevent a sudden drop in heart rate that sometimes happens during nasal septum surgery. Researchers will compare standard monitoring to using this new device, which tracks the body's stress response, in 90 adults having the surgery. The goal is to see if the new monitor helps keep patients' heart rates and blood pressure more stable during the operation.
