First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested whether anakinra, a drug that calms the immune system, could prevent severe brain side effects in people receiving CAR T-cell therapy for aggressive B-cell lymphoma. The trial included 23 patients whose lymphoma had returned or not responded to prior treatments. The study was stopped early, but researchers aimed to see if anakinra could safely reduce the risk of confusion, seizures, or other serious neurological problems after CAR T-cell therapy.
