New combo may shield High-Risk patients from Post-Surgery heart flutter

Summary
This study tests whether adding N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) to the standard drug amiodarone can better prevent a dangerous irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) after major chest surgery. About 184 high-risk adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the combo or amiodarone alone. The goal is to see if the combo reduces heart rhythm problems within the first week after surgery.
