Study aims to take the sting out of surgery prep

NCT ID NCT07169227

Summary

This study aims to find the best drug to reduce the pain and involuntary movements patients sometimes experience when receiving common anesthesia medications through an IV before surgery. Researchers will compare three drugs—lidocaine, paracetamol (acetaminophen), and dexmedetomidine—in 170 adults undergoing elective surgery. The goal is to make the start of general anesthesia more comfortable and safer by preventing this common side effect.
