New strategy aims to tame dangerous side effect of promising cancer drug

NCT ID NCT05663866

Summary

This study is testing three different medications—dexamethasone, montelukast, and methotrexate—to see if they can prevent or lessen severe allergic-like reactions that can happen during the first dose of a lung cancer drug called amivantamab. It involves 68 people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer who have already tried other treatments. The goal is to make the amivantamab infusion safer and more tolerable for patients.
