Calming kids after surgery: new drug test for cleft palate recovery

NCT ID NCT04928391

Summary

This study aims to see if a single dose of the drug dexmedetomidine, given at the end of surgery, can help prevent agitation and confusion as children wake up from cleft palate repair. It will compare the drug against a placebo (saltwater) in 60 children aged 1 to 7 years. The main goal is to make recovery from anesthesia smoother and more comfortable for young patients.
