First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at two methods to prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in people who receive a kidney transplant from a living donor and are at intermediate risk for CMV. One group gets preventive medication (valganciclovir), while the other group is monitored closely and treated only if the virus appears. The goal is to see which approach works better to keep patients healthy after transplant.
