New online program aims to prevent eating disorders in pre-teens

Summary
This study tests an online program called PRETA for pre-adolescents (ages 10-12) to reduce risk factors for eating disorders. About 1068 students from different schools will be randomly assigned to either the PRETA program or usual health activities. The program includes 9 interactive sessions covering healthy eating, media literacy, self-esteem, and social skills, along with education for families and teachers. Researchers will measure changes in eating attitudes and body image after 3 months.
