This study looks at whether measuring parathyroid hormone (PTH) soon after thyroid surgery can prevent symptomatic hypoparathyroidism, a condition where low calcium levels cause symptoms like tingling or cramps. About 336 adults having their thyroid removed will be monitored. The goal is to create a clear plan to catch and treat this issue early, improving recovery and possibly shortening hospital stays.
