New LASIK technique aims to restore reading vision without glasses

NCT ID NCT07512089

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests if a newer LASIK method called laser blended vision (LBV) helps people with presbyopia (age-related trouble seeing up close) better than the standard monovision LASIK. About 100 adults aged 40 to 55 will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries. Researchers will check vision at 1 week, 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery to see which method gives clearer sight at all distances.
