First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at whether having a team of doctors discuss high-risk patients before noncardiac surgery can reduce serious complications. About 1200 adults who are frail or have major health issues will take part. Some hospitals will use the team meetings, while others will continue usual care. Researchers will track problems like hospital stays, organ failure, or death for six months after surgery.
