Summary
This study looked at whether a device called ATPmetry can accurately measure how clean a patient's skin is before surgery. Currently, nurses just look at the skin, which can be unreliable. The study involved 200 adults having day surgery. Researchers compared the device's readings to the nurse's visual check to see if the device is a better, more objective method.
