Ambulance blood tests may keep patients home safely

NCT ID NCT07503470

First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving ambulance crews a portable blood test machine helps them decide if a patient really needs to go to the hospital. About 1,500 adults who would normally be taken in will be included. Half the ambulances will use the tests; the other half will provide standard care. The goal is to see if the tests can safely reduce unnecessary hospital visits.
