Mountain pregnancy mystery: why thin air causes complications?

NCT ID NCT07312227

Summary

This study aims to understand how living at high altitude affects pregnant women's hearts and their babies' growth. Researchers will follow 20 women in Bolivia living above 3,500 meters, comparing healthy pregnancies with those having complications like high blood pressure. They'll use heart ultrasounds and blood tests to see how low oxygen levels impact pregnancy health and baby development.
