Smaller cut, same hope: study seeks to predict sperm retrieval success
NCT ID NCT07286279
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at 248 infertile men with very low or no sperm in their semen to see if doctors could predict who might only need a smaller, less-invasive incision to find sperm. Researchers checked factors like hormone levels and medical history to see if they could tell ahead of time whether a mini-incision would work. The goal is to help some men avoid a more extensive surgery.
