Simple blood test could warn of dangerous infections after surgery

NCT ID NCT04669886

Summary

This study is testing a blood test that measures a substance called endotoxin. Researchers want to see if this test, taken before and after a common kidney stone removal surgery, can predict which patients are at high risk for developing serious infections or body-wide inflammation. The goal is to help doctors identify and monitor at-risk patients earlier. The study will enroll 150 adults scheduled for this surgery.
