Urine test may predict fever risk after kidney stone surgery
NCT ID NCT07514676
First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a standard urine culture test, done before surgery, can help predict if a patient will develop a fever after a specific type of kidney stone surgery called FANS-RIRS. Researchers are observing 150 adults who had surgery before their urine culture results came back, to see if those results are linked to fevers after the operation. The goal is to better understand infection risks and improve how doctors manage antibiotics around the time of surgery.
