Neck scan may predict anesthesia danger

NCT ID NCT07565025

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple ultrasound of the neck vein can help predict dangerous drops in blood pressure when patients go under general anesthesia for gallbladder surgery. Researchers will measure the vein before anesthesia and track blood pressure changes right after. If successful, this could give doctors a quick, non-invasive way to identify high-risk patients.
