New study aims to predict painful Post-Surgery air leaks
NCT ID NCT07350265
First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at 100 people having lung surgery to see if air leak measurements from the breathing machine during surgery can predict air leaks after surgery. The goal is to find a better way to detect leaks without opening the chest, which could reduce pain and hospital stays. Participants will have their air leak volume measured during and after surgery to see if the two are related.
