Can a simple CT scan replace invasive heart tests before valve surgery?

NCT ID NCT05750173

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at 150 older adults (75+) getting a new heart valve (TAVI). It compared using a CT scan (CTA) versus the standard invasive heart catheterization (ICA) to check for blocked arteries before surgery. The goal was to see if the CT scan alone is safe and effective enough to simplify the pre-surgery process.
