Summary
This study examined blood and placenta samples from 36 pregnant women—14 with preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) and 22 healthy controls—to measure specific proteins called syndecans. The goal was to better understand what causes PPROM, a condition that can lead to early birth and complications. No treatment was given; this was an observational study to gather information for future research.
