Summary
This study looks at whether giving or withholding acid-reducing drugs (PPIs) after a variceal bleeding episode in people with cirrhosis affects in-hospital complications. About 80 adults with cirrhosis and variceal bleeding will be randomly assigned to receive either omeprazole/pantoprazole or no PPI until discharge. The goal is to see if PPIs increase or decrease risks like infection, re-bleeding, kidney failure, or confusion.
