First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at a surgical method for treating bacterial infections of the spine (spondylodiscitis) using only an incision in the back. 47 patients were treated, and the surgery successfully removed infected tissue and stabilized the spine without causing nerve damage or other major complications. The approach appears safe and effective, especially for older patients.
