Lung nodule study: new hookwire technique under scrutiny for pneumothorax risk
NCT ID NCT07300072
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at over 1,000 patients who had a lung nodule marked with a CT scan before surgery. Researchers compared a special hookwire technique to a dye-only method to see if it increased the risk of a collapsed lung (pneumothorax). The goal was to understand the safety of this technique, not to treat the nodule itself.
