Vibrating lungs to fight pneumonia: new study tests device for ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07453966

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special vibrating airway treatment helps pneumonia patients who are on breathing machines. The treatment, called intrapulmonary percussive ventilation (IPV), is meant to help shake mucus loose from the lungs. Researchers will compare patients receiving this extra treatment to those getting standard care alone to see if it helps them get off the breathing machine faster and improves their lung function.
