Yearly shots may shield leukemia patients from deadly infections
NCT ID NCT05417165
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving yearly pneumococcal vaccines to people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) offers better protection than the current standard of revaccination every 5 years. About 80 adults with untreated CLL will receive either an initial vaccine followed by yearly boosters or the usual 5-year schedule. The goal is to see if more frequent vaccination leads to higher antibody levels and fewer infections.
