Simple blood test could spare many prostate cancer patients from costly scans
NCT ID NCT07553754
First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study aims to develop a blood test that uses genetic material from tiny particles (exosomes) to predict whether prostate cancer has spread to the bones. Researchers will analyze blood samples from 1,000 men with newly diagnosed prostate cancer and compare the results to PSMA PET scans, the current gold standard. If successful, this test could help rule out bone metastasis without the need for expensive imaging in low-risk patients.
