First seen Jun 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether eating a plant-based diet for 12 weeks could lower blood pressure and change gut bacteria in 102 kidney transplant recipients. Participants either followed a plant-based diet or their usual diet. The goal was to see if this diet could help manage heart disease risk, which is a major concern after transplant. Results may offer a simple way to improve long-term health in this group.
