Plant-Based drinks put to the test: can they reshape the gut microbiome?
NCT ID NCT07730229
First seen Jul 28, 2026 · Last updated Jul 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether drinking plant-based beverages for two weeks can positively change the mix of bacteria in the gut. Healthy adults aged 18 to 65 will have their gut microbiome analyzed before and after consuming the drinks. The goal is to see if these beverages boost microbial diversity, which is linked to better overall health.

- plant-based beverage
- What this could lead to
- If plant-based drinks improve gut bacteria diversity, it could point toward simple dietary choices that support digestive health.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, short-term study in healthy people, so any changes may be minor or temporary and might not apply to those with digestive conditions.
