New injection offers hope for teens with rare genetic disorder
NCT ID NCT05270837
Summary
This study is testing whether daily injections of a medication called pegvaliase can safely help control phenylketonuria (PKU) in teenagers aged 12-17. About 55 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the injections or continue managing their condition with a strict diet alone. The main goals are to see if the injections lower harmful blood phenylalanine levels better than diet and to monitor for side effects.
