Could a tiny capsule replace scopes for stomach bleeding?
NCT ID NCT06951490
First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a small, swallowable capsule called PillSense™ that can detect blood in the upper digestive tract in about 10 minutes. Researchers want to see if a negative result from this capsule can safely rule out serious bleeding, so patients with anemia or a positive stool test might avoid invasive procedures like endoscopy. The study involves 20 hospitalized adults and aims to gather data for future use, not to change current care.
