First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested a gel called Picato (ingenol mebutate) on 20 people with a very early form of skin cancer called lentigo maligna on the face. Participants either could not have surgery or chose not to. The gel was applied to the skin to see if it could make the cancer go away. After one or two rounds of treatment, doctors checked if the cancer had completely cleared.
