New study aims to improve detection of kidney reflux in kids
NCT ID NCT07334821
First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study compares two imaging methods—PIC cystography and VCUG—to see which better detects vesicoureteral reflux (urine flowing backward into the kidneys) in children. About 60 children having endoscopic surgery will receive the PIC test, and results will be compared with prior VCUG scans. The goal is to find a more effective way to diagnose this condition, which can lead to kidney infections and damage.
