New study tests Drug-Free combo for tension headaches
NCT ID NCT07240532
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a four-week physiotherapy program and a meditation app can reduce headache pain and improve quality of life in 78 adults with frequent or chronic tension-type headaches. Participants will be split into groups receiving physiotherapy, meditation, or both. They will track headaches and complete questionnaires about pain, stress, and sleep.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- multimodal physiotherapy (manual therapy, dry needling, massage) and mobile-app guided meditation
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a drug-free way to ease tension headaches and improve daily well-being.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 78 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The benefits may be modest or no better than existing treatments.
