First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study explores whether shining near-infrared light on the forehead, inside the nose, and on the neck can improve memory and mood in older adults who feel their thinking is slipping but don't have a formal diagnosis. About 80 participants will use a special light device at home twice daily for 5 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in brain activity, thinking tests, and mood questionnaires before and after the treatment period.
