New biomarker may predict sepsis survival in ICU patients
NCT ID NCT07356739
First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study explored whether a natural substance in the body, Phoenixin-14, can help predict which sepsis patients in the intensive care unit are more likely to survive. Researchers measured Phoenixin-14 levels in 77 adults with sepsis and compared them to other known markers. The goal was to see if lower Phoenixin-14 levels are linked to higher risk of death, which could lead to better monitoring and treatment decisions.
