First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether it is possible and acceptable to give patients leaving the intensive care unit (ICU) a personalized program of physiotherapy and optimized nutrition. Sixty adults who had been on a breathing machine for at least 4 days took part. The goal was to see if this approach could increase the number of days they spend alive and out of the hospital within 30 days, and to help design a larger future trial.
