First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested two blood pressure medicines, phentolamine and glyceryl trinitrate (GTN), in 170 women with severe pre-eclampsia in the ICU. The goal was to see which drug better protects kidney function. Pre-eclampsia can harm the kidneys, and GTN has been linked to kidney injury in some cases. Researchers compared kidney test results between the two groups to find a safer option.
