Summary
This study tested a device that delivers mild electrical pulses to the back of the throat to help intensive care unit (ICU) patients who have trouble swallowing after being on a breathing tube. The goal was to see if the treatment could reduce the risk of food or liquid going into the lungs. The study planned to enroll 72 adults but was stopped early.
