Pharmacists to the rescue: new study aims to boost heart drug adherence

NCT ID NCT07159399

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether specially trained pharmacists can help people with atrial fibrillation take their blood thinner medications more consistently. About 400 adults with AF who are starting a blood thinner will either get usual care or extra one-on-one education from a pharmacist. The goal is to see if this support helps patients stick to their medication schedule and lowers their risk of stroke and other complications.
