Simple talk with pharmacist could help tame diabetes
NCT ID NCT07507305
Summary
This study tested whether adding regular meetings with a trained pharmacist to standard doctor visits helps people with type 2 diabetes manage their condition better. 122 patients in Nigeria were randomly assigned to receive either their usual care or usual care plus pharmacist support. The pharmacist provided education on medications, healthy living, and helped solve problems with taking medicines correctly, aiming to improve blood sugar control without changing the patients' prescribed drugs.
