Could a Pharmacist's call save your life after an ER visit?
NCT ID NCT07486362
Summary
This study looks at whether having an emergency department pharmacist review positive blood culture results helps patients get notified faster after they've been sent home from the ER. Researchers will compare two hospitals—one where pharmacists handle these results and one where nurses and doctors do—to see which process works better. The goal is to find the best way to contact patients quickly if a serious infection is found, to prevent complications like sepsis.
