Viruses vs. superbugs: new weapon tested for deadly heart infections
NCT ID NCT06870409
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a special virus-based treatment, called phage therapy, to standard antibiotics can improve outcomes for people with a serious bacterial heart infection called infective endocarditis. The trial will involve 30 patients who are hospitalized with this condition. Researchers want to see if the combination therapy shortens hospital stays, reduces complications, and is safe for patients.
