Summary

This study tests whether a special virus therapy (phage therapy) can safely and effectively treat stubborn bacterial infections in hip or knee replacements. About 100 adults with a Staphylococcus aureus infection will receive either the phage therapy or a placebo during standard surgery. The goal is to see if the virus treatment can clear the infection better than current methods alone.
