Scientists search for early warning sign in premature Babies' blood
NCT ID NCT07338370
Summary
This study aims to understand if the level of a natural chemical called PGE2 in the blood can predict which premature babies will develop a serious heart vessel problem called a hemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus (hsPDA). Researchers will observe 34 very premature babies (born at or before 32 weeks) who are already diagnosed with a PDA. They will measure PGE2 levels to see if higher initial levels are linked to the problem becoming more severe.
