PET-Guided radiation aims to outsmart resistant cancer spots

NCT ID NCT05830058

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a PET scan to guide radiation therapy can better control lung cancer, melanoma, or kidney cancer that has started growing again in up to 5 spots. About 32 adults will receive either standard radiation or a PET-adapted version that delivers a higher dose to the most active parts of the tumor. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and can delay the need for stronger treatments.
